Small art...

... creating ATC for swaps.  Always difficult to discard even the smallest piece of ephemera knowing that some day it will land on the right piece of paper and become a part of an Artist Trading Card.  Joined a group on FB - ATC Artist Trading Cards - that has allowed me to connect with quite a few people in the U.S. and Canada.  AND when they swap, they usually include little snippets of goodies to incorporate in new creations.

(someday I do hope to master arranging photos on this blog...what a hassle)

And today, I signed the consignment agreement and delivered various creations and framed art to Ohana Arts and Wellness Center in High Point.  They will have their gallery area ready and the items on display by the first of next week.  It is quite an eclectic place - offering readings, jewelry, fairy doors, basic belly dancing classes, and shamanism lessons.  I believe I found the right venue for my art.  {but that does not mean you cannot contact me directly should you care to make a purchase...}

Create your own SUNSHINE...

... another project that had been in the works for too long was finished this morning.  That trip to Scrap Exchange yielded the perfect ceramic drawer pulls to finish this board.  The sun / face on the top is metal enhanced with alcohol inks.  There are heat embossed patterns in the background with liquid pearl centers.  Measures  8" x 14-1/2".

A trip to the Scrap Exchange in Durham....

... always results in some interesting finds.  I did have a "wish list" {old t-square, drawer pulls, large wood beads, body parts - - plastic of course} and came home with drawer pulls, scrabble game, small metal stencil and wallpaper samples.  Oh, and test tubes for a friend.  Obviously not as hoped for but very useful things.
The largest portion of the wallpaper sample turned into an envelope while the smaller section has a flower added with the stencil and ink pad inks.  Not sure yet how it will be used - - but a good start I think.

Woke up way too early......

... and this is the result.
First plenty of coffee.

Then play time before facing today's chores.

The last photo is a combination of a photo I took a long time ago, modified with citra solv papers to colorize and then wording added.

It can't be...

... but it is AUGUST already.  This has been a productive year thus far and yesterday can be described as uniquely wonderful.
Finished a custom card holder order, attended a Oneness Blessing "Deeksha" at Unity {a truly amazing experience} and worked on cleaning my workspace - - ok, more just rearranged stuff.  Looking forward to a trip to the Scrap Exchange this coming Saturday.  THIS time I have a wish list of supplies needed & I will stick with that list {yeah, right - -}

This is the custom order - note the change in wording that was requested.  The addition of the word "maybe".  So true.  The background I have used on other holders has been patterned napkins decoupaged to holder.  Did not have one with dragonflies so created one using digitally altered citra solv with stencil made from a photo.  A learning experience that I am pleased with.
