Experimenting with Alcohol Inks...

on aluminum foil.  Really interesting results that are perfect for backing of packing tape transfers.  Just a touch of metallic with translucent colors showing through.  Finished a few ATCs {artist trading cards} using the foil along with new transfers.
These transfers are taken from latest edition of the wonderful & free local magazine:  O'Henry.  Beautiful magazine and paper / inks are perfect for transfers - if burnished an adequate amount, the paper lifts off, no rubbing necessary.

Looking for fall....

When I lived in Texas, I would make a road trip in late February / early March looking for spring.  Depending on mood, it could be down to the coast near Corpus Christi, north to Dallas, or east to Tyler.  Grand adventures but never took a road trip looking for fall.
Home now in North Carolina and fall found me.  Visited County Park in Greensboro to just "check it out".  Our weather has been extremely warm so did not expect to see much change in color.  Oh, was I wrong !!!
The next few days promise to be quite cool so will start my plans for a trip to Pilot Mountain and Danbury to see the mountains before it is too late....

And this last photo is playtime - spun a reflection photo sideways and enhanced color...looks like a Rorschach inkblot test...

Keeping the art small...

... and creating ATC's - Artist Trading Cards.  Came across a unique roll of contact paper and it is perfect background when using altered plastic slide frames
{altered with alcohol ink}.  The original intent was to add to the variety of completed cards for the upcoming Senior Artisans Unlimited {meetup group} meeting scheduled for November 7th and then have materials available to allow attendees to create their own cards.  Well as usual....just found the materials making themselves into cards.  Few hours later....this is the result.

If you are a very mature {senior} artist in the Greensboro area, check out the group on meetup or contact me.  Would love to welcome new artists to the group - pottery, woodworkers, mixed media, poets, writers, painters, photographers, etc.

Half way through October...

... and it has been eventful.  Traveled to Graham to view Dale Chihuly's Venetian-style glass art, wandered down the road to Snow Camp, went to Art in the Arboretum,  and Reconsidered Goods opened in Greensboro.  Thanks to the last event I was able to purchase old plastic slide frames.
Altered them with alcohol ink then used them on ATC Artist Trading Cards

Fall weather has arrived and I am looking forward
to a trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway next week.
The leaves are a bit behind normal schedule for changing color...so until then, here is a photo of dried weeds.
