Snow has stopped...

...and predicting 60's by Thursday !!  The sun did shine for quite a while yesterday so did take advantage of it.  For a brief period of time on every sunny day, there is a rainbow in the pond.  Timing was right to catch it yesterday.

And then another photo {and editing playtime} of gazebo.

Before the storm..

...able to visit Virginia and had permission to do a photo shoot in an old school.  Again I will use the overused word AWESOME.  So overwhelming to see the beauty in the peeling paint and rust.  So much potential in the building but most likely too far gone to salvage - plus there is sure to be lead paint and asbestos.

Discovered as I reviewed shots just how overwhelmed I was.  Not allowing adequate time to capture the image...just rushing to next one knowing the time was limited.

The blending of mediums...

Started with a photo of  an anemone, altered with citra solv.
Then altered slightly to enhance the faint shades of color.

Meanwhile, created acrylic skins using a beige color mixed with gold metallic acrylic paint.  Once dried, the skin was coated with digital ground to allow it to be run through an ink jet printer.

Next the altered "sunflower" was printed on a canvas using an inkjet printer.  The acrylic skin was cut into sections and placed on a scrap copy of the sunflower and printed.  The skins were then arranged on top of the canvas.  The skins have not yet been permanently adhered to the canvas because, honestly, this is a new process for me and I do not know what to use that will not either make the colors run or deteriorate the skins.  This is the current state of the ...almost...finished item.

If you are familiar with this process and can suggest a medium to use to adhere the two items, it would be greatly appreciated.

Time is passing {relatively} smoothly...

... as I note six months of parole {retirement}.  With most things considered - - and a few outright ignored - - going adequately decent.

Have really enjoyed the wanderings of my creations. They are slowly coming together.  I tend to make small portions and allow them to get shuffled on the work space until they find their home.  Today arranged textured wallpaper, packing tape transfer and a cut out of my photo of a double rainbow.  Good reminder for me considering the gritching I have done about the rain and weather.

Coming week will be interesting / fun ... art league meeting on Monday and ATC group meeting on Wednesday.  Look forward to visiting with like minded people.

Happy February First !!!
