Wrapping up January...

used a cloth to add texture so
it appears to be on canvas
work station set up
this is one that has no digital adjustment
with four days of citra solv creations -  - 174 pages created and scanned.  And estimate another 40 not yet scanned.  It was a great opportunity to experiment and play.  Did learn I have been using way too much solvent.  The second day used a spray bottle ....and patience.  With light spray on each page and approximately an hour of wait time, the results were so much better.  Also ...on a few pages applied low tack artist tape on areas to prevent the melting of the ink.  Good {and some spooky} results.
Aroma did get a bit overwhelming...I'm sure neighbors thought I had finally got serious about cleaning my home...

used tape to protect
divers - can still see
the ship below them

Let's just say...

... magic happens.
Began work on an assemblage and had to set it aside while I struggle trying to figure out how to attach hinges to a chipboard tri-fold panel.  Found a mini stack of materials that magically came together....
It only measures 4-1/2 x 7" but has a great variety of materials - - heat emboss, citra solv papers, stickers, metal corners, an old envelope printed with the bird.  Yes, a lot of rejects from the other project.
Now back to experimenting on hinges....

It started as a cleaning project....

..and became an assemblage.  Found I had numerous pieces of things that just did not fit and, worse, the stack of things was growing.  So I set up a work table and attempted to stack, arrange and just see what might go together...
and it did.  This is a board from a "fairy door" that was a door prize {disassembled it obviously}, a photo of a bike from a free local magazine {applied decoupage matte and then removed the paper),die cut chipboard trees with textured paint applied....and then the quote that brought it all together:

"Live for road trips and bike rides with music in your ears and the wind in your hair"

Granted, the stack is not that much smaller, but I am pleased with what came together.

Weather has been amazingly pleasant for January in North Carolina.  Last week did have a few cold mornings while today it reached 60 degrees with the promise of a few more days of like weather.  Did go out one cold morning and took photo of the beautiful frost on my car windows - - and I can only imagine what neighbors thought if they witnessed the flash on my camera.
Made a road trip to Kernersville...and visited Korners Folly ~ ~ photos to follow.

OOPS...missed a month...

....but gained a year.  December was the typical roller coaster.  A few art shows - almost said unproductive but actually, though financially not rewarding, they were informative and gave me new direction.  Made plenty of contacts and did secure a few orders for photos....

So this will be a year unlike others....oh, now that is obvious...

With the intent of clearing the work space, put a few papers to the side...and then a few letters...and buttons and pins.

Found the quote:  Hope is the breathe of the soul"....and this came together as my hope chest for 2015.

Now to really clear the work space and prioritize a few nearly complete creations...

Let the New Year and the fun begin !!!
