Can't always believe what you are told...

...particularly when weather is the subject.  During my visit in May 2013 and visiting with new acquaintances, I have been informed that snow is a rarity and if it should fall, it is gone within 24 hours.  Evidently this winter is the exception to the rule.  Snow began lightly falling around noon yesterday and let up at 11 last night.  Good thing I believed the weatherman this time and moved the firewood indoors - was quite pleasant last night and toasty warm...

Today I am being cautious [probably overly so] and staying home with ventures out for a few photos.  Supposedly it will be quite warm this weekend so I will capture the snow while it lasts.

Small assembly pieces...

Assembled a few items...using citra solv papers, packing tape transfers, and scans of citra solv printed on ink jet transparencies.  All over the gambit of designs....But, though small, I photographed and then altered with software.

The design on the right will be a postcard as well as enlarged for printing on canvas

Blue is the unintentional theme

As in ice-cold blue... It is brisk and I do not use that term lightly.  Seems we are looking forward to a real, actual accumulation snow incident.  Possible, yes brace yourself, 1/2 inch of snow.  That should shut the city down I'm sure....

But still thinking blue...here are the latest

The first is a small 5x7 canvas textured and covered in part with citra solv papers.  The center is a smaller canvas adhered that is also covered in citra solv papers.  The center is a transfer created using packing tape.

The second is more of a conglomeration...The background is textured wallpaper - I knew I held onto that roll of wallpaper for some reason - painted and embellished with mulberry paper.  The faded image of a man is a transfer creation using citra solv image, copied via laser color printer, then used matt gell.  Once gell set, soaked and removed the paper.  I was concerned that the edges deteriorated and there were tears, but overall it fit the background pattern on the wallpaper. The overall size is 7-1/2 x 10-1/2.

Weather has put constraints on me...

... but proving to be a good thing.  Set up a workspace for assemblage art and creation of additional citra solv papers.  Additionally, purchased an amazing book on Venice that is perfect for packing tape transfers.
Have maintain a regular schedule with Yoga and finding the benefits are manifesting.  Knee more cooperative than just three months ago.  YES...three months !!  I know this is a ramble, but so much can run concurrent without the constraints that were in my life up until July of last year.  New constraints of course...weather, finances, but it is working reasonably well.
And working is producing:

Boat is transfer using packing tape on background of citra solv papers.  Believe is digital manipulation of citra solv papers.
The last is citra background with wording I found that fits the moonrise.

It has taken a while....

...but I am finding a new flow for the day.  It has taken longer to adjust to the lack of restrictions on the days.  Continue this creation of must-dos...but they do not put constraints on what I want to do.  Economics seems to be the only restraint ~ ~ oh, and weather.  Both I am learning to accept {like I had a choice} and adjust to the limitations.

I have found community groups that, interestingly, overlap.  Yoga, Unity, Artists Guild, and Meet Up groups - a true case of like minded people.  Further supports my belief in the connectivity of all souls.  Directly within the web, maybe not.  But indirectly, yes.  They will impact me as I will them.

and for today....I will stay warm and enjoy my home and the ability to create.
